The 4th of July has always been a big celebration in St. Croix. On the west side of the island in downtown Frederiksted near the waterfront, there would be fun and entertainment to suit anyone from ages 1 to 100! The fun and entertainment would include free live music concerts and food street vendors showcasing their delicious treats. The local stores would be open if you would like to purchase that perfect something for yourself or your loved one. Local restaurants would also be open so you can enjoy a delectable bite to eat. When night falls, there would be a dazzling display of fireworks over the water at the Frederiksted pier.
This 4th of July is a special one for many different reasons. It is the first of many celebrations after the COVID pandemic. This year the local stores and restaurants will be open and the fireworks will take place at 8pm. Although many have been vaccinated, we are still not ‘out of the woods’, yet. So please practice CDC guidelines and make sensible decisions when it comes to the health and safety of you and the people around you.
